Forest Lakes is represented by Sarasota County Commission District 2. This is where county decisions on issues such as stormwater management, transportation, parks, and community planning are made which directly impact our neighborhood.
Over the past several years, with the help of County Commissioner Mark Smith, many of our community's concerns regarding stormwater management, flooding, and Phase II dredging have been addressed and/or resolved. These issues, and more, remind us that county-level decisions matter.

Voter registration/party change deadline: Monday, July 20
Deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed: Thursday, Aug. 6, 5 p.m.
Early voting: Visit the Early Voting page for dates, times and locations
Election day: Tuesday, August 18; polls open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; vote-by-mail ballots must be received in the elections office by 7 p.m.
