Palms Golf Course at Forest Lakes to Come Under Local Ownership
Sarasota, FL — SRQ Real Estate Group, LLC today announced its acquisition of the Palms Golf Course at Forest Lakes, an 18-hole executive golf course located in the heart of the Forest Lakes community.
The Real Estate Group has been working with the seller and previous owner of the course, Grosvenor Square LTD., who said the following: “…The new owners have a vision, and we are excited to see them take over the next chapter and wish them luck.”
The SRQ Real Estate Group, LLC is comprised of a collective of local residents who have united to preserve and operate the golf course for the benefit of the surrounding neighborhood. Many members of the group are long-time Forest Lakes residents who share a deep commitment to maintaining the character, accessibility, and natural beauty of the property.
Forest Lakes, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024, is a historic community within Sarasota County. The neighborhood has recently received a historical marker, further highlighting its significance and long-standing presence in the region.
“We look forward to working with the HOA to ensure the success of the golf course and the betterment of the community,” said Brian Hershberger, spokesperson for the SRQ Real Estate Group, LLC, in a statement to the Forest Lakes Homeowners Association.
The acquisition reflects a broader effort by local stakeholders to preserve valued community assets while enhancing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The SRQ Real Estate Group, LLC plans to continue operating the course as a welcoming and centrally located destination for golfers of all skill levels.
