Congratulations to all FLCCE residents! Thanks to your many signatures of support, and the hard work of the Neighborhood Ambassadors, your HOA Board, Yard Squad and the Community Connections Committee, we have been awarded the County Neighborhood Grant funding. This was a result of an arduous, 9 month long, grant application process.
Recently 2 of our residents, the Community Connections Chair and an HOA board member, attended the Sarasota County Commission meeting. Of the applicants who applied county-wide, Forest Lakes was the only applicant in attendance that spoke to our appreciation of the County staff and the Commissioners for funding this program. This was later noted by an appreciative commissioner. In the next few months, we will be sprucing up our neighborhood with new signage, paint, landscaping and natural plantings. And, as a big part of receiving the grant involves volunteer work, we will need your help. We’ll need a variety of volunteer support from: people who can help plant bushes, painters, people to pull up old plants and tear out old plant debris, etc. So please volunteer and send an email to flccehoa@gmail.com and put VOLUNTEER in the subject line.
