GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN FOREST LAKES ESTATES

As you travel along Beneva Road and cross Riviera Drive, you've probably noticed a welcome change. The once-overgrown 15-foot hedges that had hidden the clubhouse from view for years have been professionally trimmed back, once again revealing The Palms Golf Club. Palm trees have been groomed, fresh mulch is being installed throughout the property, and the entire entrance area has been refreshed. The result will be a dramatic improvement that enhances not only the golf course but the appearance of our entire Forest Lakes community.

The upgrades don't stop there. Many previously unkempt border areas along neighborhood streets are now being regularly mowed, trimmed, and maintained. Also, there are benefits to our residents. To learn more about resident benefits available at The Palms Golf Club, visit flccehoa.com.

These improvements are just a few examples of the positive changes taking place throughout Forest Lakes and the surrounding area. The ongoing clearing of sediment in Phillippi Creek continues to improve water flow and address long-standing flooding concerns. If you have driven over the Webber Street bridge recently, you've likely noticed the remarkable difference already taking shape.

And as our community continues to improve, we encourage every resident to do their part.

Our Yard Squad volunteers have been working hard edging, trimming, and helping maintain common areas throughout the neighborhood. You’ll generally see them edge gutters on our streets to keep the water passage clear during storm season. Feel free to lighten their burdens and pick up trash you see when you’re out walking.

As we see big area improvements note that there are things we as homeowners can do as well.

· Take a fresh look at your own property, make sure you are edging your yard so grass islands don’t form in the gutters and contribute to flooding.

· Step out to the street and view your home as your neighbors see it. Sometimes items stored along the side of a home are more visible than homeowners realize. Extra flowerpots, trash cans, lawn bags, equipment, debris, or other stored items can unintentionally detract from a home's appearance.

· If your property backs up to the golf course, please remember that your backyard is also part of the community's overall appearance. We encourage residents to remove unnecessary stored items and maintain these areas as well.

Small improvements made by each of us, adds up to a cleaner, more attractive neighborhood for everyone. Together, we can continue enhancing the beauty, pride, and property values that make Forest Lakes such a special place to call home.
